The History of Soul RnB Lovers Radio

The founder and operator of the Radio station “Soul*RnB Lovers Radio”, Wolfgang Poss, came into contact with the American radio station AFN (American Forces Network) in West Germany at a young age. In the 70s he always listened to the famous American DJs such as Roland Bynum, Don Tracy and Wolfman Jack. He was interested in soul and RnB music.

In the decades of the 70s, 80s and 90s, a large number of American soldiers were stationed in West Germany. As a police officer, Wolfgang had the opportunity to come to the American barracks in West Germany and visit the popular NCO clubs there. American soul music stars regularly performed here. For example: The Floaters, The Chi-Lites, SOS Band, The Manhattans or Ray, Goodman and Brown. In citys and places like Bitburg, Wiesbaden, Frankfurt Air Base, Ramstein, Kaiserslautern or the Spangdahlem Air Base in the Eifel. He didn't listen to European radio, only American radio. Even during many stays in the USA.

Wolfgang was always at the “All Nighters”, the soul discos in the NCO clubs. Well-known DJ`s appeared there.

The love for soul music has resulted in a great deal of musical knowledge over the years. He is therefore exactly the right person to present the mix of Soul Classics and today's smooth RnB on the great station “Soul*RnB Lovers Radio” and to further develop the station.
